DITCH THE DAIRY: YOUR SKIN WILL THANK YOU
BEAT THOSE PESKY SKIN CONDITIONS AND BUT OUT DAIRY
Struggling with acne, puffiness, and redness? Dairy is one of the leading causes of bad skin. It Stimulates oil glands connected to the hormone testosterone, causing acne. Some say that once they have cut dairy out of their diet their acne had disappeared under a month.
Now don’t get me wrong I haven’t drank cow’s milk plain in my adult life for years I stopped when I turned eighteen when I finally had enough of breakouts and long lasting ear infections. Once I stopped so did everything else. My skin cleared up, I had more of glow, I wasn’t piling on make up, and my ear infections went away.
EVERYTHING IN MODERATION
The motto I like to live by is “have your cake and eat it too” I believe that everything in moderation is okay. What’s the fun in living if you can’t meet someone for an occasional latte or eat yogurt every couple months, or order wine with a cheese plate. I don’t find I miss yogurt as much but when you’re on the go in an airport or eating breakfast with your kids there is no harm in a little bit.
What I find having a healthy balance with is the occasional cheese plate and the occasional latte. When I over do these tiny little indulgences I notice how my body and skin reacts so I wheel it back in and tame my little place until I can indulge again.
THE CHALLENGE
I challenge you to take a break from all dairy products for one month. See how your body feels, how your clothes fit, and how your skin looks.
Once you feel amazing and your skin is clearer and brighter try the occasional latte and cheese plate. See how you feel after them, see if your body can handle it three to one time a month.
When all the diary is finally detoxed after a month and then when you have it you can really tell how much of it your body can handle. When you feel like you’re going to get a pimple, have bad gas, bloat, or get oily skin stop and take in how many times you had diary that week and that month. Then you will know how much your body can handle.
WHAT YOUR SKIN CAN EXPECT FROM A DAIRY DETOX
In the month you take off from dairy and detox it out of your body and pores here is what you can do to help your skin:
- Stay clear of oil based cleansers and beauty products
- Topical essential oil treatment (frankincense is my favorite with grapefruit)
- Stay away from coconut oil ( the molecules are too big they won’t absorb into your skin they will sit on top and make you break out even more)
- Try salicylic acid to help renew skin faster and make the existing breakouts come to the surface
- Detoxing mask
- Stay away from foundation try a light powder instead
- Take collagen to help support your skins renewing process
Remember in the first week your skin will most likely get worse before it gets better. Once you go through the deep detoxing period your skin will get better. Don’t get discouraged I promise the pay off will be worth it after the month.
